Design Gallerist brings to you today First Digital Museum Of Fine Art To Open In Paris. L’Atelier des Lumières, a new cultural space dedicated to immersive art exhibitions, is to open within the next 18 months in the 11th arrondissement of Paris, the only one in the French capital.
This innovative project combines state-of-the-art projection technology with original musical scores to create an unparalleled viewing experience of masterpieces by the biggest names in art history.
The organization behind this ambitious venture is Culturespaces, a company which manages monuments, museums, and art centers whilst promoting access to the arts and heritage for disadvantaged children. It currently operates 12 facilities, including for the Musée Jacquemart-André and the Musée Maillol, which cumulatively attract two million visitors each year. It is hoped that L’Atelier des Lumières will increase this number by a further 400,000.
Their newest Parisian project will replicate the concept of the Carrières de Lumières in the village of Baux-de-Provence. Since opening five years ago, this attraction has displayed the works of Gauguin, Van Gogh, Monet, Renoir, Chagall, Klimt, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and Raphael in a similar format.
Once open, it will show two exhibitions per year. The first is to feature a major name from art history and a second, shorter exhibition will showcase the work of a contemporary artist.
It’s really inspired place to visit and see all the art exposed.
